Genechron also develops its R&D projects through public funding (regional, national, Community). In recent years, two projects presented by Genechron to EU R&D programs dedicated to SMEs in the Life Sciences sector have earned the “Seal of Excellence” label which labels the best projects, in terms of scientific content and industrial prospects:
- the Head & Neck cancer project for the development of a diagnostic assay on “head and neck” tumors, based on the quantification of some microRNAs (from saliva samples) identified by our partner “Regina Elena” Cancer Institute of Rome
- the Bladder cancer project for the development of a diagnostic assay on bladder cancer, based on the quantification of some microRNAs (from urine sampling) identified by another of our partners, the University of Turin
At the moment, Genechron is realizing a Clinical Validation of a number of biomarkers which correlate with some characteristics of the epileptic conditions (proprietary IP)
