Genechron is a public/private start-up facility, whose mission is to supply advanced biotechnological services in the area of high-throughput genomics and metabolomics and to provide state-of-the-art computing facilities for biomolecular structural prediction, design of synthetic molecules, in-silico metabolic engineering.

Genechron is managed by Ylichron Srl, the first spin-off company of ENEA (Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Environment).
Ylichron has been founded in 2005 to put on the market hardware and software technologies for high-perfomance computing. The company has a proprietary tool which allows the automatic design (at VHDL level) of computing systems to be implemented on programmable logics (FPGA).
Genechron leverages mainly on advanced biomolecular equipment from ENEA, and on the partners' skills in complementary scientific and technological domains.
