Genechron is an advanced biotechnological facility, established in 2009 in the frame of a project co-funded by FILAS SpA (Regione Lazio) in the "Distretto Tecnologico delle Bioscienze" (Technological District for Life Sciences) programme.

Genechron leverages on the expertises of three different technology carriers:

• ENEA (Italian Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Environment), through its Dept. of Biotechnologies, Agroindustry and Health protection for plant genomics and metabolomics
• Institute of Medical Genetics of the Gemelli General Hospital of the Universita' Cattolica (Rome) for human genetics
• Ylichron Srl, an ENEA spin-off, for all the fields related to Computational Biology (bioinformatics, in-silico modelling, computational Systems Biology)

The Genechron laboratory is located within the ENEA Casaccia Research Center, nearby Roma.

Samples are processed on Tuesday and Thursday.
Samples arriving before 11 am in the processing days are immediatly processed and results communicated the day after.
